Support ACT's daily operating costs with tax-deductible Season Contributions. Help maintain Capitol Theatre and fuel artistic growth. ACT Season Contribution Your Season Contributing Support is essential to managing the daily operating costs of the Capitol which includes electricity, gas, upkeep, janitorial, etc. These are completely separate from subscriptions and ticket purchases, which go directly toward costs of ACT shows – costumes, set, artistic fees, royalties, etc. Because no tickets are included, this contribution is tax deductible as provided by law. It is only through your generous support that ACT can continue to maintain the Capitol Theatre on Aberdeen’s historic Main Street while continuing our artistic growth. Join the growing number of patrons who are listed below and in ACT’s season programs as Season Contributing Supporters. Prefer to mail us a contribution? This statement can be a maximum one page, 12-point type. Also submit a complete resume of your theater experience. List what show, with what theater, what theater experience was gained and onstage (role played) or backstage (stage manager, props, costumes, etc.) duty for each show listed. About the Don Hall Scholarship This endowed scholarship fund was started by friends of Donald H. Hall to honor him as a stalwart theater arts supporter in Aberdeen. He was co-founder of ACT 2, Inc. Without Don there would be no Aberdeen Community Theatre. Northern State University (NSU) and the community, working together, started a theater program in 1979 with students and interested ind ividuals mounting one show each summer session. In 1980, ACT 2, Inc. – doing business as Aberdeen Community Theatre (ACT) – was incorporated as its own 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, but ACT still worked closely with NSU. From 1980 to 1993, ACT’s primary home was NSU’s Johnson Fine Arts Center. ACT acquired the Capitol Theatre in 1993 and moved out of the Johnson Fine Arts Center, but the close relationship with NSU still exists. Young People's Theatre Scholarship Young People's Theatre's mission is to build character and confidence one child at a time. If a family can't afford the YPT tuition, there are scholarships available for those who need help. Find out more about YPT, and download the application for a scholarship!
