Support youth development through ACT's YPT program. Your contribution makes a difference. Join us today! Young People's Theatre (YPT) Support YPT Are you looking for a positive and educational place for your young ones to learn about and appreciate theater arts? Look no further than YPT! Our organization is dedicated to providing affordable opportunities for youth ages six to seventeen to get involved in the theater arts and share their common interests. Not only do we offer seminars, workshops, camps, and classes, but we also provide "final project" performance opportunities and productions to showcase the talent and hard work of our young participants. We are committed to presenting quality, family-oriented live theater that celebrates life, promotes individual growth, and fosters cooperative teamwork. Our goal is to provide a safe, friendly, and functional environment that inspires high self-esteem, self-confidence, and a sense of self-worth and accomplishment in our youth. Join us at YPT and discover a lifelong love for the theater! If you are thinking about becoming involved, read the YPT PRODUCTION HANDBOOK. It spells out information about rehearsals and performances, guidelines for kids and parents, and our expectations. The handbook is a guideline for cast, crew and parents. We want to provide the most positive and productive YPT experiences possible. Feel free to approach the director or a staff member with questions or suggestions. Send us an email with your thoughts! YPT SCHOLARSHIPS Scholarship Application Young People's Theatre offers scholarships to families that may not be able to afford participation in our programming. Scholarships are funded by contributions from individuals and businesses that see the need for this program. YPT is dedicated to providing affordable opportunities for theatrical involvement for youth ages 6 to 17 as an opportunity for participation in the theater arts for anyone who is interested. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION ABOUT YPT SCHOLARSHIPS Who is eligible for YPT scholarships? YPT provides anyone with financial need a scholarship to any YPT activity. No one will be turned away because of personal or financial circumstances. The Tom & Danielle Aman Foundation has generously provided a limited amount of funds earmarked specifically for YPT scholarships. How do I apply for a scholarship? YPT requires that financial need be identified and scholarship forms filled out before the activity begins. Or in the case of a production, turn in forms within two days of casting. YPT does not ask for personal financial information. What costs do scholarships cover? Scholarship amounts usually cover the entire tuition cost of a YPT activity, but in some instances we award half- or three-quarter scholarships, depending on the number of applicants for a given activity or funds availability. We realize that sometimes a partial scholarship may not be sufficient. These instances will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. What costs are not covered? YPT scholarships do not include YPT memberships, T-shirts, or scripts. Students are not required to purchase any of these items, but if a students wants a T-shirt they would be required to purchase it. Or if a student wants to keep a production script (or fails to return it) purchasing it will be required. YPT scholarships do not guarantee or exclude anyone from a role in YPT productions. Do I need to reapply for every YPT activity? No, but students must re-apply for a YPT scholarship every year. Scholarship applications are good for an entire YPT season beginning with the first application of the year and running through October of that year. However, registration forms must be completed for each YPT activity participated in during that year. If you would like to find out more about a scholarship for your child, open and print the Scholarship Application Form and return it to ACT before auditions.

< Back August 2-6, 2023 For Better ACT Season Show A romantic comedy for the digital age! Karen and Max are getting married. At least, they will… if their jobs will ever let them be in the same city at the same time. “For Better” is a hilarious farce that pokes fun at our overdependence on the gadgets in our lives and explores whether, in the high-tech world of texting, email, and camera phones, a bride and groom actually need to be in the same country, at the same time, to tie the knot!
