    Tony Kollman and Eliot Lucas, who will play every role when ACT presents “A Tuna Christmas,” on the mainstage at the Capitol Theatre, November 20 to 24. It’s the sixth and final show of Aberdeen Community Theatre’s 2024 Season. These two talented actors will portray almost two dozen characters in a wild and heartwarming comedy - bringing the folks of small-town Tuna, Texas to life… just in time for the holidays! There’s a lawn decoration contest, a mysterious Christmas Phantom, and a local production of “A Christmas Carol” that keeps running into trouble. A wild and wacky comedy-satire that will have the audience laughing out loud. Tentative Show Dates: November 20th - 24th Auditions: October 15 & 16 at 7pm at the Capitol Theatre. ACT is seeking two male actors to portray 22 male and female characters.

    "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" dramatized by Joseph Robinette from the story by C.S. Lewis. ACT’s Young People’s Theatre presents a classic children’s tale, brought to life in this stage adaptation featuring the great lion, Aslan, the terrifying White Witch, and four siblings who enter a magical land through an enchanted wardrobe. Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy must join forces with mythical creatures and talking animals to save Narnia from perpetual winter. Auditions for “ The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe ” will be held at the Capitol Theatre, 415 S Main St., August 26 & 27, at 6pm . No experience needed. No need to prepare. Tentative show dates: October 6-13. Directed by Brian T. Schultz . The cast will include boys and girls ages 7 - 18; YPT is, however, considering casting adults in the roles of Aslan and the White Witch. She is a driven woman who recently had her illusions shattered, professionally and personally. She is working on getting her life back on track. NELSON - Mid 20s to Mid 30s. Alice’s current boyfriend. He wants to be seen as the “cool guy,” but he really, really is not. RON - 50s to 60s. Alice’s dad with whom she has a good relationship. He is a lawyer and is currently married to Alice’s mom, Deborah. DEBORAH - 50s to 60s. Alice’s mom. Deborah wishes she and Alice were as close as Ron and Alice are. Alice at age 36-37 is an editor of a southern literary magazine; intelligent, attractive, professional – but with an air of melancholy. Young Alice at age 16-17 is rebellious, high-spirited, adventurous – looking to break out of small-town life and experience the world. She must be very strong singer and comfortable in folk and bluegrass styles. Billy Cane – a young soldier returning home from WWII; an aspiring young writer; fresh, open, optimistic, charming, and a little naïve. Daddy Cane – Billy’s father. A widower. Spry, good looking. Kind hearted, if a bit lonely. Margo Crawford – a small-town bookstore owner; a childhood friend of Billy’s who now harbors romantic feelings towards him; a natural beauty with a keen intellect. Max – a customer at Margo’s bookstore, at first, he has a crush on Margo, but later becomes Edna’s beau. Florence – an employee at Margo’s bookstore and a childhood friend of both Billy and Margo. Edna – an employee at Margo’s bookstore. Daryl Ames – An assistant at a literary magazine. Funny, with a dry and officious sense of humor. Insecure, and perhaps a bit socially awkward, but endearing and innately likeable. Lucy Grant – A junior editor at a literary magazine. An ambitious, professional young “modern” career woman of the 1940’s. Strong, forthright and provocative with a sharp sense of humor. Mama Murphy – Alice’s mother. A caretaker to her family and her rural community. A warm, loving, sensible woman. Hardworking, with great inner strength and compassion. Daddy Murphy – Alice’s father; an authoritative and a stern disciplinarian; devoutly religious, hard-working, a poor but proud farmer. Mayor Josiah Dobbs – the Mayor of Zebulon; a political and financial powerbroker – distinguished, an imposing and controlling presence; has a genuine interest in protecting his son’s future and his family name, but in doing so, is ultimately pushed to a point of extreme and irrevocable cruelty. Jimmy Ray Dobbs – plays both age 18-20 and 38-40. Jimmy Ray in his early 20s in flashbacks is Mayor Dobbs’ son and young Alice’s beau; handsome, boyishly charming, well-built and intelligent; from a family of wealth and power and is being groomed by his father for a similar future in the family business; an independent thinker who is not afraid to stand up to his father for what he believes in; he has a sense of personal responsibility and morality as well as a deep reserve of passion and emotion. The same actor will also play an adult Jimmy Ray at age 38-40.     “NOIR SUSPICIONS” is a sequel to last year’s “MURDER AT CAFÉ NOIR,” but this new murder mystery stands alone; you will enjoy this production whether you saw the first one or not! Patrons will be seated on the stage; the actors will perform around and in between the tables. ACT returns to “Café Noir” with this sequel featuring familiar characters from “Murder at Café Noir,” including Rick Archer and Sheila Wonderly. Enjoy a meal onstage during this humorous, interactive murder mystery that’s an homage to “Casablanca.” Mr. Archer finds himself in a tough spot after the discovery of a dead body on the dock. Adding to the intrigue: a mysterious woman, a devious blackmailer, and a businessman who wants to take Ms. Wonderly – and the Café - for himself.
