Scenes take place in settings that include a bedroom, a rooftop, a breakfast table, and a restaurant. The action includes superhero lessons, kissing, breaking up and making up. The characters and stories all are varied but one thing’s the same: the endings will surprise you! “Didn’t See That Coming” will be Aberdeen Community Theatre’s entry for AACTFest 2023.

The owner of the Cafe Noir has washed ashore, murdered, and Rick’s quarry was the last person seen with him. Rick employs his hard-boiled talents to find the killer. Was it the French madame and club manager, the voodoo priestess, the shyster British attorney, the black marketeer, or the femme fatale? The audience votes twice on what they want Rick to do next, and these decisions can affect the outcome of the play!

Set in the late 1970s, this hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous, hilarious, and through-provoking. Pushed to the boiling point, three female coworkers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy – giving their boss the boot! While he remains otherwise engaged, the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down. Hey, a girl can scheme, can't she?
