  • We made it to Kansas!

Are you ready for some exciting news? We made it all the way from Aberdeen to Salina, Kansas, and we couldn't be more thrilled! We're here to participate in the AACTFest Region V festival, and we're eager to showcase our talent and learn from other community theaters. This festival is part of a multi-year process that culminates in a national festival held in odd-numbered years, and we're proud to say that ACT has entered this festival cycle every year since its inception in 1981. As a part of the process, each state chooses a community theater production to represent it at the regional level, and we're honored to be representing South Dakota in Region V, which includes Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. But here's the thing: we need your help! We're trying to raise $6,000 to pay for this trip, and we've already traveled all the way down here. Your donations now will make the biggest difference and ensure that we can continue to participate in this fantastic festival. We've raised just over half of what we need, and every donation counts. Show your support! Help us GET INTO THE ACT!! - Cast & Crew of "Didn't See That Coming"

LIKE A CHILD Everyone hates turnips But grownups always eat them Kids are much too smart To let a vegetable defeat them So you could eat your turnips like a grownup Or you could drop ‘em in your napkin Before they reach your mouth And smuggle them to the garbage Like a child, like a child, like a chi-chi-child Like a child, like a child, like a chi-chi-child Just do what you’ve got to do And smuggle them to the garbage like a child WAITING, WAITING School is over So here I wait (big sigh) For my mother Who, as usual, is late Waiting, waiting For a disorganized adult Nothing’s more exasperating Or more difficult WHY SHOULD A KID HAVE TO WALK Why should a kid who has run out of gum Have to beg for a ride to the store Which by car is just minutes away But on foot could take half of the day And why can a grownup zoom off in the car To a party that’s right down the block And when even your pet gets a ride to the vet Oh why should a kid have to walk
